Our platform role and health information
This statement explains what CareNestHQ™ is — and is not — in relation to protected health information and HIPAA.
Last updated: June 27, 2026
CareNestHQ platform status
CareNestHQ™ is a family care coordination platform. We help families organize caregiving information, communicate with care teams, and navigate transitions such as hospital discharge.
CareNestHQ™ is not a healthcare provider, not a health insurer, and not a healthcare clearinghouse. We do not provide clinical services, process insurance claims, or act as a covered entity under HIPAA in our current product posture.
This statement reflects our current understanding. It is not legal advice. CareNestHQ does not claim HIPAA compliance.
User responsibilities
Users voluntarily choose what caregiving information to enter, upload, or share through CareNestHQ™. You control what details you include about yourself, family members, or care recipients.
You are responsible for deciding whether our platform is appropriate for the sensitivity of information you store and for obtaining any consents required before sharing information with others.
If your situation involves regulated health data shared by a provider or insurer, consult those organizations and qualified professionals about their obligations.
Future compliance evaluation
CareNestHQ may evaluate additional healthcare compliance frameworks as the platform evolves, including business associate relationships or enhanced safeguards where appropriate.
We will update this page and related policies if our regulatory posture changes. Until then, do not rely on CareNestHQ™ as a HIPAA-compliant repository for information subject to provider or payer obligations unless we explicitly state otherwise in a signed agreement.
